Apparently, we have all heard of bungee jumping, but only a few of us have heard of the Minjin Swing, right? Wow! Bungee Jumping + Minjin Swinging is a lot of fun, and it’s more fun if you go in two’s or even three’s. You get strapped up so you are lying face-down and then you swing from 45m down to one meter in 3.5 seconds, reaching speeds up to 120kmph. Scary? Yeah!
If you are in Cairns and you have the chance, I would recommend doing a bungee jump at least once. Â And if you set to drive your limits and DARE GRAVITY OR PROBABLY CHEAT DEATH! Then Try BUNGY JUMPING + MINJI SWINGING.Â
ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE (ATV) TOURS
ATV is a great way to get dirty while having an explosive fun. A typical ATV tour is a half day tour of which the actual riding time is about 2 hours. It’s a great tour to do in the wet season when the tracks become mud, and you find your ATV sliding around everywhere.

At Fitzroy, you can take part in various fun and action-packed activities like snorkeling, swimming, walking and hiking trails, viewing the reef or simply just relaxing.

Wow, there seems to be a lot of adventures that you can have in Cairns. I wouldn’t go for the bungee jumping or the sky diving, but I would love to see the Great Barrier Reef.
Cairns, one of the incentives USANA is giving us. 🙂 And there is one more thing a person could do there. SCUBA DIVING!
I was a scuba diving instructor for several years, back when I lived in Boracay 1998-2003. I haven’t dived since then but if I am there, I would definitely do an easy dive, chill and enjoy the marine life.
Thanks Robert for pointing that out. Yes, in fact, one of the reasons I got my scuba diving license was for me to be able to dive the barrier reef. It was really nice.
Literally everything on your list is on my bucket list – and the place looks great. Bungee jumping AND Minji swinging sound too scary for me, though. I’ll definitely visit it one day if i have the chance :).
You’re one adventurous girl, haha. Seriouly, bungee jumping? But you sure look like having fun in the pics you shared, thanks for sharing your joy and experiences.
WOW! It is so amazing to know that Australia is the paradise for adventure. Love all the things you shared here except for the bungee+minji. How I wish I have the courage to do all that including the sky diving.
Wow so A really close friend has just relocated to Australia, sharing your list with her. Also when I visit I am doing half the things, because don’t have guts for the other half lol
Thanks for sharing the list, you will find a lot of things that you will enjoy. You can do the Kuranda scenic rail if you aren’t up for bungee and skydiving .
I love sports especially water sports. I am getting married next month. We were looking for a destination where we both could enjoy adventure sports. I guess I should add Australia as our honeymoon destination. Great post. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Australia would be good for you if you want adventure sports. Cairns would have a lot to offer. We also did a lot of hikes in Blue Mountain in Sydney if you are up for that.
You are a brave woman to have done all the things that you are talking about here – WOW!
We are completely overdue for a trip to Australia. These posts are really whetting my appetite for a trip in the best way!
I have to be honest and say Australia hasn’t been on my radar for a vacation spot but now it certainly is!! The Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest sounds incredible and something to truly be in awe of! Thanks for sharing this amazing post!
We love Cairns and Port Douglas as a base, the Daintree and Cape Trib are amazing. It’s although definitely worth heading south and inland a bit to the Atherton Tablelands
Oh wow! You are an adrenaline junkie! lol. I love the sound of all these- bar the sky diving and bungee jumping… those are two things I know I could never do haha xx
Wow!! Amazing. Doesn’t look like you got great weather there, bit who took all the amazing photos?
I love adrenaline/adventure activities and I want to go to/do all of your suggestions! Yay for awesome activities and thanks for flagging what is available in the area!
Wow, what an adventurous trip! I think im not that ready for skydiving yet but would love to try out the bungee jumping too!
Unfortunately, I’m not going to Australia anytime soon but a friend of mine will travel there in a few months! So I’m definitely sending her your article, I’m sure she can get some great inspiration from it 🙂
I myself wouldn’t do skydiving or bungee jumping – far too afraid 😀 But I’d like to do all the other things you mentioned.
Whoa, if adventure is what you’re looking for then Cairns, Australia seems to be a great place to find it. That picture of you bunjee jumping is amazing. Daintree and Cape Tribulation sound particularly nice.
Sign me up for all of these! I love a bit of adventure – and I think the swing, bunjy jumping and ATV riding would be perfect!
Loads of extreme activities, Karla! This is definitely my thing. Are you in Au at the moment?
That is a lot of adventure activities in one place! I would be down for most of them, but I am completely terrified of bungee-jumping, almost more so than sky-diving. I would jump at the chance to explore the Great Barrier Reef or do some white water rafting. Sign me up!
That looks like a lot of fun! But I would be afraid to do it!! I don’t like heights.
There seems to be a lot more to do in Cairns than I realised! Really want to give those ATV’s a go!
What a selection of amazing things to do! Albeit, a few are too crazy for me. I would LOVE to visit the Great Barrier Reef and snorkel/dive there. That would be my top pick, but would also want to try a few other things like ATV and going deep inside the rainforest.
Wow! Sounds like an amazing trip. If I ever go there I really want to try Bungee Jumping!
You look like the adventurous type! Looks like there’s a lot of fun things to do there in Cairn, especially with you! I would love to overcome my fear to try skydiving 🙂
I was in Cairns long ago but many of those activities weren’t around when I was there. At the same time, I was in the last week for my 6 month trip and was out of money. I’d love to come back one day and see more of Cairns and the surroundings.
Oh wow! There are definitely a lot of interesting things to do in Cairns. I would love to explore the Great Barrier reef and fly on a hot air balloon. I am going to save the guide for future use thanks for sharing.
All these activities seem awesome but diving at the Great Barrier Reef is definitely on my bucket list. My parents went to Cairns about a year ago and said it was an amazing experience, which made me even more curious to visit it myself. One day…
Minjy swinging? I’ve never heard of that one! Google here I come… You are so brave to try these things. Squeeze every drop out of life you can! Great pics – I absolutely love the Polaroid style links to other posts.

Amazing, thanks for putting this togerth Karla. We’re going to Cairns for two weeks in September this year, and looking forward to spending some time on the GBR and then getting a cottage in Daintree to spend time in the rainforest too. I really want to go skydiving though so that’s definitely on the list 🙂
Wow love the photo’s time for my trip to Australia!
Cairns really does have it all, doesn’t it? And amazing that you actually did all these things! I bet all those adventures were incredible….skydiving…..terrifying thought, but I think that would be the place to do it.
Sounds like an adrenaline junkies paradise. I’ll watch and take pictures.
