Joining its sister hotels in Beijing, Shanghai and Europe, Pentahotel Hong Kong opened in August 2013 with a goal of providing a βhubβ for the local community and a home base of independent minded travelers and βdigital nomadsβ.
I was greeted by a pizza bar that served authentic homemade Italian style pizzas that can be enjoyed on site or to go.
Β Recreation Rooms Β
I enjoyed the fact that they provided in house entertainment such as foosball, pool table and Wii —–all these for FREE.Β Β It was a good way for my friends and I to de-stress after a long day of exploring Hong Kong.
Games room for entertainment. They are all free
Β Swimming Pool + 24 hour gym
Pentahotel offers a swimming poolΒ on the 3rd floor where you can take a dip during hot days or just lay around and relax by its sun lounges. Right beside it is a gym, for those who would like to start or end their days with exercise.
Pentahotel provides buffet breakfast from 7-10 am everyday offering Hong Kongβs comfort dishes and drinks.Β Β The market style food station design of Eatstreet@pentalounge allows the guests to go around and see which βsectionβ they prefer to get their food from.
I loved the set-up and design of this place.Β You use your keycards as βtokensβ for you to enter and claim your Β buffet breakfast.
Note: Β You may book a room at Bed and Breakfast rate or add a surchargeΒ to enjoy the breakfast buffet
For those who prefer to dine at the hotel, Eat Street is also open daily for lunch and dinner. On Sundays, brunch is also available. For this they have popcorn stands and open-air market style food stands. It was really a sight to see.
I would love to have been able to try all the meals. Unfortunately, I only had time for breakfast.

Β 6. Amazing Staff + Excellent Service
The staff at Pentahotel are all very courteous and will try to help you as best as they can, hence, my friends and I felt so at home.Β In addition to standard services, they provide their guests with far more convenience with their Foreign Currency Exchange, charging stations, in-room dining service, express laundry service and baggage storage.Β They really do their best to recognize their guestsβ immediate needs.Β Β They hold through to their goal of providing a home for independent travelers.
7. Internet corner
For those who do not have with them a laptop and would like to surf on a big screen, fear not, for Pentahotel also provides a computer where you can surf the net.
The bathroom has dark tiles and rain shower heads. Pentahotel provides complimentary toothbrush, toothpaste and shampoo.
I also loved the fact that there is a HAIR DRYER in the room, which is very important ( at least for girls on the move).
The rain shower heads was just amazing
5.Big screen TV + Smart phone docking station
I loved how the alarm clock was not just any alarm clock but a Philips MP3 player that also served as a smart phone docking station.
6. Free Wifi
In this modern day of social technology, wifi is a must. Pentahotel has fast, reliable wifi —–perfect for their goal of providing a hub for digital nomads.
7. Complimentary Coffee and Water
Most people wake up and need to have coffee before they can function, as in the case of my friends. It was good that they not only provided complimentary coffee but also heat-sensitive, well designed mugs to go with it.
Mugs + Coffee + Water all for free
8. Sufficient plugging stations
For the type of traveler that I am, I need to have provisions to plug both my cameras, and my cell phone. Β Β This is usually a problem when one has a companion that needs to do so as well. That didnβt seem to be an issue at Pentahotel as the room had more than 5 ports/ sockets that we could simultaneously utilize.
Things around Pentahotel
7-Eleven
A convenience store is found right across the street for whatever need you may have 24/7.
A mall with Uniqlo at the bottom.Β There is also a food court at the top floor that offers good choices of meals. We ate at a restaurant that serves tepanyaki style wherein they cook the food in front of you. Minimalistic but very very delicious. We spent HKD144 for 2 people but we were both super full.
This wasn’t all of it but it was sooooo good!

I personally did the City Flyer A29 to Diamond Hill (Option #2βby public bus). The walk to the hotel is on a flat road except for a short bumpy path. The rest was relatively easy.
This hotel looks amazing. I am so overdue for a vacation. Your photos really show all of the details too. I feel like I have actually been here before now.
Thanks for the introduction to this seemingly wonderful place. And you most certainly did a lot of work on the itinerary, planning and things to do. π
Pentahotel seems like a great place to stay. I was already sold once I read about the Pizza bar haha, but the Buffet looks sensational as well. I do love the cozy feel the hotel gives off!
Haha I would have done the same but had a very tight itinerary to follow. But definitely enjoyed every second of my stay in Penta Hotel HK. π Do come and stay?
The way you describe it, this sounds like a hotel to try in HK. The interesting look with the graphics on the wall very nice. But the best thing is the free wifi!

Wow lovely hotel – I like the decor and it really is a cozy corner worth spending time in, the way it’s set up. Thanks for the review. I prefer staying on Hong Kong island though – maybe it’s time to try kwooloon instead!
That forest of skyscrapers is just unreal. I can’t believe how posh all of these locations are, a true golden age in Asia. I wonder how accessible all of this is to a student traveler like myself.

The bay window is just adorable. For any hotels in HK, having a view into the streets and amazing skylines is a must, I would say!!
Well written article. The hotel seems a good place for staycation. The pool looks inviting. Hong Kong perhaps I should add it to my travel wish list.
That forest of skyscrapers is just unreal. I can’t believe how posh all of these locations are, a true golden age in Asia. I wonder how accessible all of this is to a student traveler like myself.
This place looks awesome. Skyline is incredible too. Consider it added to our ‘places to stay’ list π
Home away from home (but better than being at home) π
