Tayabas, Quezon is definitely best described by ‘small but mighty’. The humble provincial city strays far from the urbanized metro and yet is able to hold its own with a variety of sights and activities. It’s commonly referred to as the “Festival City”, famous for bright and colorful festivities, no shortage of scenery, as well as some of the best food and delicacies in the country that you just won’t find anywhere else – some examples being addictive desserts like Cassava Cake and Yema Cake.
But did you know that there’s far more to the coastal city than just that? The Kamayan sa Palaisdaan resort is a great example of this, home to fun activities, relaxing environments, delicious native restaurants as well as the more upscale, airplane themed gourmet dining experience at the Air Summit which are definitely some must tries when finding yourself in Tayabas.
How to Get to Kamayan Sa Palaisdaan Quezon
There are only two ways to get to Tayabas from Metro Manila as of writing: via private vehicle and via bus. Depending on traffic and pit stops, the travel time from Manila to Quezon province ranges from 3-5 hours.

Things to do in Kamayan sa Sa Palaisdaan
1. Dine in an Airplane
As stated earlier, Air Summit is an airplane-themed restaurant! Here visitors will get to dine on gourmet cuisine in a replica of an airplane. The process is pretty similar to that of getting on a flight, too. All customers are led to an “immgiration office” where the staff will take your orders. You’ll be served by staff in stewardess and pilot’s uniform, making the experience all the more realistic. They even have ‘announcements’ for boarding to signal when you can get on the plane. That also means you can’t just go in and take pictures of the interior, you have to order first before the staff calls you to board. You also get your very own plane ‘ticket’!
The interiors are designed like that of a five star restaurant, with dressed up tables beside the windows for a nice view of the nearby greenery, and even crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling to perfect the ambiance.
They serve a variety of different dishes, ranging from Filipino cuisine to international eats. If you’re having a hard time deciding, you can order their group meal packages for PHP 2500 as well as various set menus. Of course, ala carte options are also available.
We had Fruti de Mare and lemonade. The choices here are quite a bit pricey – well some are reasonable but overall dining will cost you quite a bit more than average, but it’s a cool experience nevertheless.
2. Swim
Because no resort is complete without a proper pool setup, after all! They have two pools available, first up is the Blue Lagoon which is the perfect choice for fun with family and friends, also called the spring pool because the water originates from a local spring. Beside it is a kiddie pool where children can have some fun, too.
Their second pool is known as the Summit Infinity Pool, namesake is because it’s located at the highest point of the resort. It has a nearby bar called the Summit Bar and Cafe, barbecue set up, and a view hall overlooking the farm grounds and even the famous Mt. Banahaw. The highlight of the summit, of course, is the lovely view of coconut trees, bright skies, and greenery in the distance, a chill place to relax and unwind after a long day.
3. Fish Spa Dining
Now this is certainly a unique experience, one that sets Kamayan sa Palaisdaan apart from other resorts! Have you ever wanted a spa treatment while dining? Well now you can – though it’s definitely not in the traditional sense. Their submerged dining set up at the fish spa enables guests to dine on delicious Filipino dishes while their feet are in the water, janitor fish all the while doing their work massaging and tearing away calloused skin, definitely a relaxing experience.
4. Zipline
As for activities, Kamayan offers zipline and body fall amenities perfect for those who want a little bit of thrill to pop off their resort vacation. The activities are located near the infinity pool for just PHP 150 a ride.
5. Relax
Kamayan sa Palaisdaan is the perfect place to get some much needed rest and relaxation. After having a hearty meal or going for a swim, guests can feel free to roam around the resort grounds or maybe have a nap at the many huts and canopies they have dotted all over for your comfort and convenience.
6. Kamayan sa Palaisdaan Restaurant
And of course, the definite gem of the resort is their floating restaurant – the original ‘kamayan’ restaurant on water in the entire country. Here you will find lots of Filipino dishes but they especially specialise in seafood – and they do serve really fresh food. We see lots of people visit in groups and families to dine and have a great time! It’s definitely a great venue for communal eating. They accept celebration and wedding bookings, too.

I especially loved their seafood options and inihaw na liempo. They also serve some province favorites like Pako Salad and Longganisang Lucban. The restaurant also serenades guests with live music during your meal, making the experience all the more welcoming and memorable.
Craving for some more fresh eats? You can even go fishing in the waters and have the staff cook your catch for you immediately.
7. Staycation
