Meat Up Burger Restaurant
Just across the In89 Deluxe Digital Cinema sitting in Wuchang St., Wanhua District, Taipei City, you can find the Instagram-worthy restaurant of Meat Up Burger. This burger restaurant mainly serves juicy burgers which can be stuffed with colorful filling depending on your preference from the selection. Plus, they also serve beautifully decorated and towering fresh juices, yogurt and milkshake.
Carefully plated dishes for brunch and desserts can also be served. Their dishes and beverages on their menu can be a bit pricey. But they’ll definitely tempt you to snap a photo of them even before taking a bite or sip.
Artificial decorations and art murals in its interior can serve as your backdrop. Wall paintings which include flamingos, pineapple, watermelons, sweet and refreshing delights can greet you in front of their store.
Five minute-walk south of the Meat Up Burger Restaurant, you can find an unassuming hostel, Meander Hostel. It only appears like a typical building located at No. 163, Chengdu Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City. Once you enter its rustic glass and wooden storefront, you’ll feel like you’ve entered into a whole new different community.
Despite having an open ceiling design on its ground floor, it still has good lighting coming through the glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows. I also loved the hanging lights especially the colorful lanterns. Aside from the stylish furniture and facilities, I also notice the Maps and travel information decently mounted on the wall.
Many travelers and strangers come in, play, and then go out of this hostel every day. But, I think its interior design is one of the huge factors that made the place always seemed clean and decent.
Our list will not miss this luxurious hotel built by Taipei’s first world-class hotel developer, Ambassador Hotel. This is Amba Ximending which is located at the 5th to 10th floor of the Eslite Shopping Complex Wuchang Street corner Kunming Street.
Hotel rooms can be found on the 6th to 10th floor of the building. Each room has white-painted walls and wooden floor but matched with funky and unique furniture. For an overlooking city view of Ximending, you may try their balcony room.
Even by walking from their reception and across their lobby, you’ll find interesting art decorations and wall murals. By their elevator, the doors are colorfully drawn with movie tickets, director’s chair, and clapperboard icons.
Another thing worth mentioning in this Instagrammable hostel is the Tingba Lounge. This is a bar made lively not only by live band music but also but its retro interior design. Aside from the old-fashion furniture, the wall mosaic made from denim fabric is sure interesting.
4.Modern Toilet Restaurant
From the Amba Ximending hotel, walk another block going south and turn to your left. You’ll then reach the three-storey building of a toilet room-themed restaurant.
Don’t worry, the place is not disgusting as it sounds. Although they used toilet bowls and urinals as their furniture and for plating, Modern Toilet Restaurant used bright and playful colors making you still have an appetite to eat.
5.Alice is Coming Restaurant
12-minutes away by foot from Meander Hostel is another restaurant with an interesting theme. This fancy restaurant situated in No. 111, Yanping South Road Zhongzheng District, Taipei City is “Alice is Coming.” I can’t think of other famous Alice but this restaurant surely loves “Alice in Wonderland.”
Take a pose in their adorable photo opp corner by a fireplace prop. Even their dining tables looked photo opp areas. They have this round dining table designed like the guests are sitting inside a huge cup. Another dining setting is fenced with grass wall props. If you don’t want to sit in anything fancy, you can sit on the table with a typical black couch by the windows with red curtains.
When we dine in here, we were required to order one dish per person and the staff wasn’t too friendly. Or, maybe, she was just not in the mood. As for the food, I didn’t find them special. I think it was a bit expensive. But, the place is very cute. For IG purposes, it is a wonderland.
6,Huashan 1914 Creative Park
About a five-minute-walk from Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, then you’ll be in Huashan 1914 Creative Park. Hiding beneath the old brick and cement walls of this formerly winery are restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and art galleries.
The Upside Down House is a crowd favorite. It literally gives the guests an upside down photo opp.

7.Lights and all in Ximending
Ximending Pedestrian is where the party happens, literally and figuratively speaking. Small concerts, album launching, and other similar performances are held in its streets.
Also, in this vibrant district, you can find stores selling clothing, gadgets, electronics, Japanese manga. Ximending is also a home to numerous theaters, street food vendors, restaurants, cafe, and bars.
At night, Ximending is even more vibrant. It is like their very own New York Times Square.
Located in the northeast of Taiwan, Jiufen is one of the most popular Instagrammable places in their country. Although the fact has yet to be confirmed, it is often attributed as the inspiration of the Japanese Animated Movie “Spirited Away.”
The said fun fact helps Jiufen to invite tourists to visit. But even for those who are unfamiliar with the movie “Spirited Away,” the place is worth the visit and a once in a lifetime experience. Hope you can drop by and take photos of this small community with its historic narrow streets and steep stairways.
Jiufen has an overlooking view of the sea and mountain. Best time to capture photos of the scenic view are both during the day and night. Read also What to do in Jiufen.
9.Hot Spring at Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort
The Wulai District is an indigenous district most known for several hot springs. For private hot spring resorts, I’d point you to Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort. It is located right by the Nanshi River and thirteen minutes away by foot from Wulai Old Street.
At Volando Urai Spring Spa & Resort, you’ll be relaxed as you get a view of the green mountainous terrain and turquoise water of Nanshi River. Top Instagrammable spots here are the infinity outdoor pool by the river, outdoor hot spring pool, private hot spring bathtub, and in-house restaurant.

The old tracks used to transport coal through Shifen is now used for public transport as well as a spot for photo opp. That is because the train tracks are where you can lit your personalized lantern.
Just behind the station, you can get a breathtaking view as you cross the Jingan Suspension Bridge which leads to Nanshan villages. Thirty minutes walk away from the Shifen Old Street is the little Niagara Falls of Taiwan, Shifen Waterfalls.
Another place where you can make a wish through a Sky Lantern is Pingxi. This is where one of the main Sky Lantern Festival is often held.
When we were in Taiwan, it was in Pingxi where we had our Sky Lantern making experience. Read also Jiufen and Pingxi Tour with My Taiwan Tour.
12.Songshan Cultural and Creative Park
A multi-purpose park made our list again for Instagrammable Places in Taiwan. This is Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, located at No. 133, Guangfu South Road, Xinyi District, Taipei City.
Similar to Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was previously an industrial factory, more particularly a tobacco factory. Today, it is now a hub for creativity and innovation projects.
13.Aquatic Addiction Development
#WhenInTaipei, this is an absolute MUST: Blow Torched Nigiri from Addiction Aquatic Development. This upscale marketplace is not only a place where you can buy fresh seafood. Its minimalist chic place has a grocery store, sushi bar, togo bento counter, oyster bar, and outdoor seafood grill restaurant. By the main entrance, you’ll find clean and hygienic aquarium of live seafood.
To get the best photo of the magnificent and towering Taipei 101 and the entire capital city of Taiwan, you need to take a 30-minute hike at Elephant Mountain.
The best time to visit this high terrain is before sunset. Expect a huge crowd as well. Hope you can take a snap of photo of the view of Taipei as the day transitions to night. For plan B, take advantage of the Elephant Mountain in a morning where there are fewer people to bump to.
