Taiwan was never on my radar until recently. I wonder why it took me a long time to go and visit since Taiwan is actually full of instagrammable corners and good food trip. And, that is aside from Taipei 101 Building.

In this article, I came up with a list of 14 Instagrammable places in Taiwan. This includes, among others, factory-turned creative parks, natural parks and themed restaurants and hotels. Read more below:

  1. Meat Up Burger RestaurantTaipei-Meat-Up

Just across the In89 Deluxe Digital Cinema sitting in Wuchang St., Wanhua District, Taipei City, you can find the Instagram-worthy restaurant of Meat Up Burger. This burger restaurant mainly serves juicy burgers which can be stuffed with colorful filling depending on your preference from the selection. Plus, they also serve beautifully decorated and towering fresh juices, yogurt and milkshake.

Carefully plated dishes for brunch and desserts can also be served. Their dishes and beverages on their menu can be a bit pricey. But they’ll definitely tempt you to snap a photo of them even before taking a bite or sip.

Artificial decorations and art murals in its interior can serve as your backdrop. Wall paintings which include flamingos, pineapple, watermelons, sweet and refreshing delights can greet you in front of their store.

2.Meander Hostel

Taipei-Meander-Hostel

Five minute-walk south of the Meat Up Burger Restaurant, you can find an unassuming hostel, Meander Hostel. It only appears like a typical building located at No. 163, Chengdu Road, Wanhua District, Taipei City. Once you enter its rustic glass and wooden storefront, you’ll feel like you’ve entered into a whole new different community.

Despite having an open ceiling design on its ground floor, it still has good lighting coming through the glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows. I also loved the hanging lights especially the colorful lanterns. Aside from the stylish furniture and facilities, I also notice the Maps and travel information decently mounted on the wall.

Many travelers and strangers come in, play, and then go out of this hostel every day. But, I think its interior design is one of the huge factors that made the place always seemed clean and decent.

Meander hostel is one of the best budget travel accommodation in Ximending, Taipei. Know more about the Meander Hostel through this link.

3.Amba Ximending

Our list will not miss this luxurious hotel built by Taipei’s first world-class hotel developer, Ambassador Hotel. This is Amba Ximending which is located at the 5th to 10th floor of the Eslite Shopping Complex Wuchang Street corner Kunming Street.

Hotel rooms can be found on the 6th to 10th floor of the building. Each room has white-painted walls and wooden floor but matched with funky and unique furniture. For an overlooking city view of Ximending, you may try their balcony room.

Even by walking from their reception and across their lobby, you’ll find interesting art decorations and wall murals. By their elevator, the doors are colorfully drawn with movie tickets, director’s chair, and clapperboard icons.

Another thing worth mentioning in this Instagrammable hostel is the Tingba Lounge. This is a bar made lively not only by live band music but also but its retro interior design. Aside from the old-fashion furniture, the wall mosaic made from denim fabric is sure interesting.

4.Modern Toilet Restaurant

From the Amba Ximending hotel, walk another block going south and turn to your left. You’ll then reach the three-storey building of a toilet room-themed restaurant.

Don’t worry, the place is not disgusting as it sounds. Although they used toilet bowls and urinals as their furniture and for plating, Modern Toilet Restaurant used bright and playful colors making you still have an appetite to eat.

5.Alice is Coming Restaurant

12-minutes away by foot from Meander Hostel is another restaurant with an interesting theme. This fancy restaurant situated in No. 111, Yanping South Road Zhongzheng District, Taipei City is “Alice is Coming.” I can’t think of other famous Alice but this restaurant surely loves “Alice in Wonderland.”

Take a pose in their adorable photo opp corner by a fireplace prop. Even their dining tables looked photo opp areas. They have this round dining table designed like the guests are sitting inside a huge cup. Another dining setting is fenced with grass wall props. If you don’t want to sit in anything fancy, you can sit on the table with a typical black couch by the windows with red curtains.

When we dine in here, we were required to order one dish per person and the staff wasn’t too friendly. Or, maybe, she was just not in the mood. As for the food, I didn’t find them special. I think it was a bit expensive. But, the place is very cute. For IG purposes, it is a wonderland.

6,Huashan 1914 Creative Park

About a five-minute-walk from  Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, then you’ll be in Huashan 1914 Creative Park. Hiding beneath the old brick and cement walls of this formerly winery are restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and art galleries.

The Upside Down House is a crowd favorite. It literally gives the guests an upside down photo opp.
