Before leaving on a long trip, I like to pamper myself a little. And there’s no better place in the Philippines to pamper yourself than Obagi. Since my trip was going to be a six-month venture, I decided to really go for it and get the works! Facials in North America are pretty expensive, so it was a good value for me to get one before I boarded the plane. My time at Obagi was like Heaven on earth! If you decide to treat yourself at Obagi, here is what you can expect.
BEFORE YOU TRAVEL: Get a complete facial to prepare yourself for your journey.
How to set up an appointment: Setting up an appointment is really easy. All you have to do is call 81-OBAGI and schedule a date. They even send you a follow-up text so you don’t forget! The treatment I got was Php 5,000 pesos, but it was worth it.
Welcome: When you arrive at Obagi, you will be greeted by the receptionist. She will give you a lot of paperwork to fill out especially if it’s your first time at the spa.
Venue: Obagi is bright and well-lit. It looks clean, and you instantly feel comfortable and at home.
The Experience: House of Obagi is a little pricey. Don’t be turned off by this—as your appointment continues, you will see why and realize that your money is well-spent. The first thing you do is lay down on a reclining chair. Most dermas do, but Obagi gives you a blanket. I don’t know about you, but I usually get really cold in clinics! I don’t know why all clinics don’t provide a blanket.
Service: I decided to get a facial cleaning and diamond peeling. They applied ten things to my face. After I was done, I had a complete facial and didn’t feel the need to do anything else. Here is what they did:
- First came the mask. They gently rub cream onto your skin and let it sit for a bit. The mask is designed to lighten your skin’s pigmentation. I was warned that there might be a stinging sensation, but for me there really wasn’t much. I felt a bit, but it was bearable. I could feel my skin getting tighter.
- Next came a steam to open my pores. It felt so nice!
- Finally, they gave me a diamond peel. It was glorious.
- As a bonus, you get a hand paraffin treatment either during the diamond peel or while you’re waiting for it to set! The treatment makes your hands so soft.
- After the diamond peel was ready, I was given a deep facial cleaning. The best part of this was that the girl who gave it to me talked me through each step. I could feel her doing everything so thoroughly over my whole face! It was a lot different than other spa experiences I have had, where I just kind of sat there while they rubbed cream on my face. I felt like I was actually part of the experience!
- The next process was a high frequency wand held close to my skin to close my pores.
- Next, I was given an enzyme mask to exfoliate and tighten my skin.
- After this, I got a Professional-C Serum 5% to remove dark circles under my eyes and fine lines on my face.
- Then Clear was applied all over my face to help with beautiful skin pigmentation.
- Finally, I had sunscreen rubbed over my skin to protect it from the elements.
WHILE YOU TRAVEL:
My facial was complete, but my experience with Obagi was not! I use Obagi sunblock when I’m outside. I use SPF 35. It’s light, and it protects well. Also, it’s a POWDER, so I don’t have to worry about taking off all my makeup to reapply.
So there you have it! I felt perfectly prepared for my long trip with this spa treatment. No yucky travel breakouts or sunburns for me! Be sure to always take care of yourself—even your skin—when you’re traveling.
Oh wow. That sounds like an amazing experience! There’s nothing like getting a professional facial.
I love to pamper myself before, during, and after LOL – I never heard of them and will need to check them out!
That sounds amazing. I have never had a facial before.
I don’t think I’ve seen a powder sunscreen before. That’s really cool! Your facial experience sounds so relaxing.
I have had a facial once and it left my skin feeling fabulous. I really enjoyed it and should do it again.

I used to use Obagi products! Not sure why I stopped. Are they available at Sephora?
Can I just grab a spot on that chair for a nice long nap?
I have never had a facial before, looks like a relaxing place to get one. Love the decor and peaceful looking chair!
That’s nice that they provide a blanket. I’m glad you got your money’s worth.
It’s so nice to get a facial in. I haven’t had one done in forever and think it’s about time!
Such a great tip that you have to get your skin ready for the trip! I love to pamper myself as a treat! Sounds like you had a great experience!
That sounds amazing. It makes sense to get a facial before a long trip as traveling can do some damage on your skin and it’s good to be prepared. The treatment is something that you’d love to have even you’re not going away for a long time, it would be nice to treat yourself to something like this every once in a while!
I love Obagi products. I need to make an appointment for my next facial!
I live for being pampered! This looks like the kind of treatment that I would love!
I’ve never had one. My sister-in-law swears by them though.
I really really want to get a facial. It’s important to keep our skin healthy.
I’ve used the Obagi line for my spots – the skincare line really works! I’m about to do it again so this is really cool you got to experience another part of Obagi services.
What a great way to get some pampering before a trip. I need to do this the next time we travel.
That sounds glorious! I believe you get what you pay for. Although you could probably find a cheap facial but it wouldn’t include as many elements or take such great care of your skin.
Oh, this is a nice experienced! I hope I can go there too, I heard so many good reviews about them.
I like your travel ritual, it is nice to have some facial treatment before going on travel. The service sounds nice.
This looks like a great way to relax and take care of yourself before travel. I have never thought to do all of this before heading off on a trip but maybe I should!
I alway spamper myself with a pedicure and fresh manicure before I travel. Then treat myself to a message after.
I always tend to do these things while on my trip, which is silly because I always break out after a nice facial. Must totally clean out my pores or something. I will have to take your advice and do this BEFORE my next trip!
That sounds very relaxing. I could go for something like that and not just before a trip! I always get cold, too, so it’s nice that they give you a blanket there!
Such a smart idea. Never thought to get a facial before a trip, but what a great way to pamper yourself.
I love a good facial pampering. I haven’t have it professionally done , but would love too. Thank you for sharing,
What an awesome way to prepare for a trip. You must have felt so refreshed after your experience at Obagi!
I rarely pamper myself. Would be nice to have a relaxing day such as this every once in a while.
I always see HOO along EDSA and I’m tempted to visit. But yeah, I heard that it’s pricey so that’s what’s holding me back.
Its worth it, you should try it.
oh i would love tp have this experience … you have been proper pampered i have to say
i love facials, i’ve heard this house of obagi before, i guess on one of the korean events i’ve been before. facial is a must for girls!
I Looove it when I get a professional Facial, Mani, Pedi massage etc done. Specially awesome before and after travel 🙂
This is absolutely sounds amazing. I would love to have a good facial.
What a relaxing place, I love the chair and to get a facial? Oh it’s time for me to get one done. Appreciate you sharing this!
Oh, this sounds really nice. I am not sure if this is available outside your country.
There are a lot of Obagi places around the world
Oooooo nothing better than a facial! It’s been awhile since I’ve had one. Must fix that.
I love having facials. Obagi was worth it.
