My Arches National Park and Monument Valley Adventures

Don’t miss visiting the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches in Moab. It is so much fun. It was an memorable experience for me!

Moab’s slogan isn’t just “Where Adventure Begins” for nothing. Not only is it abode to Arches, but you can also access Island in the Sky.

There are numerous activities to do and enjoy in the Moab. Sincerely, Moab has no shortage of activities to enjoy outside of the national parks. From hiking trails and dinosaur field trips to rock art tours and river activities, Moab has something to catch everyone’s attention.

But I only had time to go to the Arches National Park and Monument Valley. These two places has no exception and that’s why you should visit there.

I didn’t get to explore everything in Arches National Park, and missed a few things like Landscape Arch, the longest natural arch in the world. But we equally had amazing time.

Arches National Park actually has the highest number of natural sandstone arches in the world, with over 2,000 natural sandstone arches. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world.

The entrance to the park is found 5 miles north of the town of Moab, Utah. Visitors can see many of these geologic wonders from a distance or up close. Arches is truly one of the most unique places on earth.

It was a great privilege to see the iconic arch. I would have wanted to camp here but unfortunately we couldn’t as permits were booked. We did it for a day trip then.

Arches National Park which has equally been tagged as “red rock wonderland” is basically the home place of weird looking rocks, rock formations & arches in addition to hundreds of soaring pinnacles, massive fins and giant balanced rocks.

This red rock wonderland will mesmerize you with its formations, refresh you with its trails, and inspire you with its sunsets.

I will advice that using a guided tours is a great way to see Arches National Park as you will not only be sure to see the most unique and stunning areas of the park, but you will also learn wonderful stories about the formation of the rock formations.

The two most possible ways to explore Arches National Park are by hiking or driving. Driving the main road through the park allows you to see lots of amazing sites right from your vehicle while hiking the park also gives you an incredible experience as you can see the towering rock structures. Arches offers plenty of hiking trails for all levels.

We did the hike to the Delicate Arch  and it was not hard, even my 70 year old grandma did it. Yes, its a long hike, there is a part that is steady uphill but once you pass that stage it becomes easier. You will love the experience.

Now, if you have time, you should definitely make it to Monument Valley.

We took a one hour jeepney tour that took us to the north window where they shot scenes from the  Transformers movie.

I am pleased to say that it was an excellent experience. I knew I only had few hours to visit Monument Valley, so I made sure it was  worthwhile. The scenery is simply spellbinding.

Visiting the valley gives you an opportunity to experience one of the most majestic and most photographed points on earth. We were able to take pictures with a horse and cowboy hat. That was kinda cool.

This great valley boasts sandstone masterpieces that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet, framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that graciously roam the desert floor.

Monument Valley is more than just a valley. It is a Navajo experience that will linger in your memory for a lifetime.

The immense, still beauty of Monument Valley stands before you with the rising sun. The landscape overwhelms, not just by its beauty but also by its size.

The fragile pinnacles of rock are surrounded by miles of mesas and buttes, shrubs, trees and windblown sand, all comprising the magnificent colors of the valley.  All of this harmoniously combines to make Monument Valley a truly wondrous experience.  You will surely enjoy this beautiful land.

If you desire to have an epic adventure and you happen to be in the beautiful state of Utah, then I highly recommend checking out Arches National Park and Monument Valley. I guarantee you an incredible experience!!
